We are looking for a graduate software engineer with at least one year's experience. The role will involve development, testing and support of business intelligence applications.

Candidates will need some knowledge of Java, *nix operating systems and relational databases . But beyond this and a natural aptitude for technology, no further technical skills are required. However, the job will give you exposure to a range of cutting edge technologies, such as distributed processing, natural language processing and the latest information retrieval techniques. We require someone who has a flair for technology, and understands what it means to curate and support large business critical applications.

However, we are a growing company, so although your role will predominantly involve those areas outlined above, you may occasionally be required to lend your skills to other tasks where applicable

We are flexible on location provided you are within commutable distance of Dublin city centre for meetings.

Would you like to work in a dymanic environment, assisting potentially market-changing research, in multiple cutting-edge technological fields? At Polecat we are looking for a Research Engineer who will be part of our Research & Development effort.

There are three main areas this R&D work will fall into:

• Lead research engineer for ROBUST an EU FP7 3-year project focussed on measuring and visualising the health of online communities. This will require excellent communication and project management skills and the ability to engineer and document prototypes in collaboration with multiple academic (SOTON, OU, TUB, etc) and industry (IBM, TEMIS, SAP) partners. http://www.robust-project.eu/partners
• Research engineering projects as part of a 3-year classic KTP reporting to KTP Associate in collaboration with UCL.
• Engineering research for MeaningMine product R&D prototyping and engineering working closely with the Product Development Team and Analyst R&D team with a focus on visual analytics, machine learning and the development of text analytics and NLP algorithms.
